Entering the Unown

We've been having a lot of problems with our old mapping software. This is the same software that we inherited from Patrick who started the map years ago, and we've kept it running now for about two years. It's really frustrating to have the map not be working, and the map has been breaking so often now, that you might even say we're MAD at the old software.

While waiting for the map software developers to slowly solve each mapping crisis and update the software, we've spent the time testing our alternatives. This last downtime was so bad that we purchased a whole new server, and started the map over again from the ground up using the latest and greatest mapping software.

The difference is amazing!

Converting just a few of our Android devices over to the new software is already mapping much better than the old system. It's going to take a lot of work to switch the whole system over, but it's going to be worth it in the long run. We've honestly been wanting to switch software for a long time, but "if it isn't broken, don't fix it", right? Well, it's been broken for too long and the map was down for too long, so something needed to be done.

You can find the new map at the temporary domain <removed> but we'll be moving the main map.lincroad.com domain over soon. Let us know what you think, and keep in mind that only a couple of mappers have been switched over to the new map so the coverage will get much better as we get more Android devices reprogrammed.

The domain map.lincroad.com has been moved over and we don't need to use the temporary domain anymore so it has been removed.
